Guess what! It’s the HOLIDAY SEASON!
What does that mean?
That means last week, you probably ate the last remnant of Thanksgiving food…And now, you’re in full gear to prepare for the Christmas holiday…
The BUSY holiday season can cause difficulty for some to PLAN EATING HEALTHY. Fast, quick food can become an easy temptation (or for many, just skipping meals) due to lack of time.
I understand the difficulty involved in trying to live healthy during those BUSY times. Therefore, I have put together some easy ways to stay healthy during the holiday season:
1. KEEP exercise a PRIORITY! No matter what, make sure that you plan exercise in your day. (Hint: If shopping, walking around an entire store a couple times can give you some exercise)
2. Keep snacks with you while shopping (or even a lunch if you will be gone for multiple hours) CLICK THIS LINK FOR HEALTHY SNACK IDEAS
3. If you are having holiday parties, instead of bringing cakes, cookies, or fried food this year, try a vegetable tray! (you can purchase at the store or make at home)
4. Donate some of your time to volunteering, listening to music, seeing a local Christmas play, and relaxing (all of these things in moderation can help you reduce stress which may decrease your desire to use eat more of that holiday or fast/junk food)
5. PRIORITIZE GROCERY SHOPPING INTO YOUR BUDGET!! Make sure that you don’t forget to add that healthier food choice into your budget. It can be easier to spend that money on fast food when you are busy. However, if you are on a budget, this may leave you with insufficient funds to purchase healthy food at the grocery store. MAKE THE CHOICE BEFORE YOU SPEND!
